Previously I prepared my quarterly statements in Excel, which was a manual process and required subsequent manual input into Sage. Now this whole process is fully automated.
Bar-Stat takes the payment summary data, along with details of rechargeable expenses already entered into Sage, creates the invoices, emails them out (even sends a copy to the Barristers’ accountants if you want it to), then posts all the information back to Sage.
It is easy to check and balance at every stage, and very adaptable to your set’s method of operation. Bar-Stat can also prepare draft VAT returns for Barristers with the same ease and efficiency.
Bar-Stat has reduced my quarter end admin time by at least 50%, and has also practically eradicated requests from accountants for repeat information as they now receive it automatically. The VAT returns have also been a great success with members of Chambers.
I highly recommend Bar-Stat to anyone wanting an accurate and automated process for billing members of chambers.

"Bar-Stat is an excellent and unique piece of software,
which, in simple terms, allows Sage and our billing system to
work together seamlessly.
It removes to need to produce laborious spreadsheets each month,
type invoices and re-enter the same data back into Sage. It saves me
so much time and reduces the possibility of human error and typos
when I used to have to enter the same data time and again into a
spreadsheet, then into an invoice database to print the invoices,
then into Sage.
Before Bar-Stat I was spending at least 3 days a month producing
and reconciling spreadsheets, entering data into our billing
database and then into Sage. With Bar-Stat you enter the data once
into Sage, which is automatically picked up by Bar-Stat. Then simply
print the monthly invoices, and export the invoices figures back
into Sage.
It produces everything that a Barrister needs each month – their
Invoice, Payment Summary, Aged Debt and Work Done reports, and also
their VAT quarterly figures. I would hate to go back to the days
before I used Bar Stat – such an inefficient way of working! "
It is logical, straightforward and user friendly, and should any
queries arise is backed up by first class, friendly support.
It is a no brainer, Bar-Stat saves me so much time, and helps me
produce accurate invoices and professional looking reports with
minimal effort.
